Montréal, May 13, 2019 – The 9th edition of Forum Afrique Expansion will be held September 4 and 5, 2019 at the Centre Sheraton in Montreal. The biennial event, organized by consulting firm Afrique Expansion with support from the African Development Bank, will attract over 500 African and Canadian investors, entrepreneurs and decision makers who will gather to forge partnerships and discuss business opportunities in Africa.
Former Québec finance minister and president of the Treasury Board Ms. Monique Jérôme-Forget will be the event’s patron. “Africa represents the future, and a genuine opportunity in terms of the diversification of markets for Canada and Québec. I am excited to be associated with Forum Afrique Expansion, which is the ideal setting for meeting African decision makers in order to strike business partnerships,” she explains.
“With some of the strongest growth anywhere in the world and a wealth of resources that are still largely untapped, the African continent has much to offer investors,” says Amina Gerba, the impetus behind Forum Afrique Expansion and president of the organizing committee.
Forum Afrique Expansion 2019’s program includes conferences, sectoral panels and the usual personalized meetings.

Deal Room: A space reserved for meetings between investors and/or financial institutions and the bearers of pre-qualified, structured projects for Africa, where partnerships are solidified.
Gala des Bâtisseurs: This invitation-only gala dinner replaces the awards of excellence gala. It will honour three businesspeople who have made an exceptional contribution to building Africa and whose work has had a profound impact on Africa’s economic development.
“Investing in Canada”: A new panel will help potential African investors discover the opportunities and government programs available in Canada, at both the federal and provincial levels.
